Pictured
below are the Trojans rugby under 13s, winners of the Hampshire cup having
beaten Winchester, who have received £250 from The
Royal Bank of Scotland thanks to Ian Johnson, Operations Manager at
Southampton Customer Service Centre for The Royal Bank of Scotland.
Ian
is also the under 13s rugby coach at the Trojans and as a result of his
involvement in his local club, he was able to apply for a Community
Cashback Award. The awards are given by the Royal Bank to staff who
make a difference to their communities by fundraising for, helping or
managing local organisations and charities. £250 is awarded to
those who, like Ian, regularly give up their time to help a local
community group. From January to December 2002, the Royal Bank, injecting
£1.1m back into local community organisations and charities throughout
the UK, made nearly
4000
awards.
Nigel Sellers, the Youth Chairman of Trojans said, "We're delighted
that the Royal Bank has recognised Ian's activities with Trojans.
The boys put so much hard work and effort into playing rugby, it's great
to be able to provide new equipment for them from this award."
Ian
Johnson added, "It's great that my employers are supporting my
community involvement in this way. The money has helped the Trojan's get
the new kit they wanted". |
