Under 11 End of Season Report

Training, fixtures & tournaments:

For the U11 squad the 2008 season has been characterised by the weather and the tournaments. We had a significant number of our training sessions and matches postponed or cancelled due to poor weather both home and away. The loss of training sessions was a real loss as development of the scrum, line out and general forward play is key for this age group. Nevertheless, we got the semi finals of the plate at the Hampshire and Havant tournaments and won the plate at the Isle of Wight tournament. At both the Hampshire and Havant we lost to the eventual winners.

Development & next season:

This year the U11s have made real progress in developing as a squad, noticeably starting to work more as a team. 

We have had around 18 – 22 members training regularly and good attendance at both training and fixtures throughout the season.

For next season developing a coaching team of a minimum of 3 (ideally 4) will help us support the boys and give us a springboard to the changes coming at U12.
