Under 13 End of Season Report

The beginning of the season did not start too well being thumped by Gosport in our first 15 a-side game. However this was the wake up call we all needed and we then went on to win four of our next five games, two of which were in the Hampshire Cup. The New Year started with a narrow defeat to Petersfield but again we lifted ourselves to a Hampshire Cup Quarter Final win over Tottonians. We were drawn against Petersfield in the Cup semi and despite playing some excellent rugby at times we very narrowly lost by 27 - 22. The last two weeks of the season ended with a weekend tournament in Ashford where we finished third and again played some very good attacking rugby followed by victories over both New Milton and Romsey. During the season 3 players were selected and continue to be involved with the Hampshire / London Irish Training groups - Dan Wotton (Silver Group) and Chris Wright & Ed Hill (Bronze Group). In conclusion the season has been very satisfying especially as we have seen the entire squad make demonstrable progress.
