HELP4HEROS

On Easter Sunday, 12^th April 2009, a Charity rugby day was held in Meyrick Park, Bournemouth, home of Oakmedians Rugby Club, in aid of the ‘Help4Heroes’ Charity in support of our wounded servicemen & women.

The festivities included both Men’s and Women’s Rugby matches, British Lionesses v Services XV and an International XV v Returning Heroes XV.

Due to other commitments, the Women’s Services team was left short of players and, as part of the South’s victorious regional squad, Trojans players were asked to help out.

Marie Hollingsworth, Helen Coyte, Laura Bates, Lisa Suffling, Sam Cornborough, Raeanne Miller and Kelly Rush turned out and pitted themselves against a team full of current and former Women’s Internationals.

Later in the afternoon an International XV including Ben Clarke, Mark Mapletoft, Shane Byrne, Christian Saverimutto, Rob Fidler, Buster White , Mattie Stewart, Brendan Daniel and others played a highly entertaining match against a team made up of Servicemen and players from local Dorset clubs.
