Trojans U11 lift the Aviva Premiership Cup On Sunday Nov 6th our U11 squad headed up to Watford to compete in the 24 team Saracens LandRover Cup. The entire Trojans U11 squad played some immense rugby against leading clubs across the South-East reaching new levels of performance as a group. In the group stage Trojans played wonderfully well against Maldon (Essex) W 20-0, Ampthill and District (Bedfordshire) W 5-0 and Old Albanians (Hertfordshire) D 5-5 winning their group. In the quarter finals Trojans were drawn against fellow group winners and tournament favourites Southend, the much acclaimed 2011 Harlequins, Etihad champions. What a game it was. Fantastic team work saw Trojans push Southend all the way until a try in the last minute by Southend saw Trojan’s potential progression in the tournament slip way; smiles started to emerge all around however as the players and parents alike realised just how well they had performed that morning; Old Albanians (the team Trojans had headed in the group) shared the trophy with Ealing after an entertaining drawn final. Thrilling stuff from Trojans, roll on the rest of the season....and yes we did lift the Aviva Premiership Cup, even though it’s almost as big as our inside centre. We eventually gave it back.
