Old Tiffinians at home
Winning run comes to an end
Old Tiffinians attacked strongly from the start and within two minutes scored in the corner from a five metre line-out, with a good conversion from far out. Trojans soon hit back, however, with hooker Lewis Bourke charging up-field from the half-way line, feeding Joby Kochanowski who cut through the defence to finally pass on to second row, Neil Andrews, to cleanly finish off the move with Chris Boyd converting. After twelve minutes play had concentrated in the centre of the pitch when Tiffinians put in a long cross kick into open space where they gathered easily and scored another converted try. For the rest of the half Tiffinians were well on top, and, despite excellent Trojans defence, finally gained another goal from a push-over try.
For the first twenty minutes of the second half Trojans gained the ascendancy and created a number of scoring opportunities but these often came to nothing through giving away silly penalties. Trojans kept Tiffinians within their own half for long periods with Tiffinians rarely gaining territory but, with five minutes to go, one rare visit resulted in their forwards bundling the ball over the line with another wide out conversion and a 28 – 7 victory.
